Stepping Down

ASA Members

I am writing to let you know that I will be stepping down as ASA President effective July 1 this year. At the present time I do not feel able to provide a service to ASA members. My involvement in the game has been in decline for a couple of years now. I was hoping that taking on the President position would reinvigorate my interest. Sadly this has not been the case.

I do want to say that this is a purely personal decision. No one has upset me, there have been no falling outs with anyone. I am fine and well. I just do not feel I am doing enough at present, and know that is not a benefit to the ASA. I am not comfortable with my own lack of effort and involvement. I need to take a break from the game.

The timing of stepping down is to hopefully give people time to discuss how to move forward. It is time for others to step up at this time. Rest assured I still hope to see you across the table at some time in the future, and I will be attending the National Championships this July.

Regards, Paul

  1. Congrats Paul for all the involvment in the Subbuteo community not only in the US but also in Canada and some countries around the world. Just by the videos that you made with Zach Walker about the basic rules of the game as well as some tips, you give the opportunity and also to give the strengh and energy to start Subbuteo table soccer in Montreal, Canada (as well as giving me some ideas to start my custom ice hockey game which will be quite similatr to Subbuteo...if you like hockey you're simply gonna love it!!).

Thanks again for all the infos and we'll see somewhere in the US for a tournament ( as soon as i'll be good enough LOL!!)
